Koala Report

Koala Report

L.I. Write a report from the collective brainstorm with paragraphing

Since Koalas are interesting animals, here are some facts about Koalas. Koalas have an unique appearance, although they look like tiny bears. The diet of koalas is mainly one thing, eucalyptus leaves.  Koalas are native to Australia, and there are many interesting facts about Koalas.

Koalas look like tiny bears.  Koalas have soft thick fur, large noses, round ears, and white stomachs.  Koalas fur is usually grey and brown on their backs.  Female Koalas have pouches for carrying their baby around with them.

Adult Koalas eat between 200 to 500 grams of leaves a day.  Koalas mostly eat eucalyptus leaves.  A baby Koala eats its mother's droppings (poo) which helps with the baby's diet.  Some of the well known types of eucalyptus leaves that Koalas fancy are Blue, Swamp, Grey, and Tallow wood (also known as gum leaves) eucalyptus leaves.

Koalas live in the Southeastern and Eastern Australia, and in the state of Queensland.  Koalas live in the eucalyptus forest.  Koalas are found in tree branches in the forest, and rarely go on the ground.

Did you know that Koalas are an endangered species?  This problem is caused by Australians destroying their habitat, (eucalyptus trees) and using them to build houses.

Koalas have an unique appearance, although they look like tiny bears they are actually not. The diet of koalas is mainly one thing, eucalyptus leaves.  Koalas are interesting animals.  Koalas are native to Australia, and there are many more interesting facts about Koalas. I have shared some facts about Koalas.

This week we had been writing a report about Koalas.  Our LI that we had to carry out while writing this report was to write a report from the collective brainstorm with paragraphing.
