Winter Learning Journey- United Arab Emirates

I chose United Arab Emirates because Arab is an Islamic country which means they have dress codes sent by Prophet Muhammad.  I also want to go to UAE because the UAE is a very interesting country eg they have over 200 nationalities.

  1. Hi Mahdia,

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey! My name is Willy, and I'm part of the commenting team for the programme. What I do is go around student's blogs from different schools in the Manaiakalani Cluster and comment on their posts related to the programme, and to be frank, I'm honoured to do so!

I like your choice of destination. Your reason shows the personal connection between you and the country you've chosen, and I like that - it'll be easier to relate and connect with the culture.

Good luck for your Summer Learning Journey! It's really fun!
    -Willy

  2. Hello Mahdia, it is great that you have started the Summer Learning Journey. You have made a mistake because you have written the Winter Learning Journey instead of the Summer Learning Journey. Keep on working hard.

  3. Ahlan Mahdia (that's hello in Arabic),

Thank you so much for joining the Summer Learning Journey! We are very happy to have you blogging with us :-) I'm looking forward to following your journey through the United Arab Emirates over the next few weeks.

My name is Dan and I'm working alongside Rachel and Mark over the summer. I'm lucky enough to be able to read your blogs and I'll be leaving comments as I go. If you want to reply to my comments then please do! I'd love to know what you think, or if you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

I'm looking forward to learning all about the UAE from you Mahdia. It is a fascinating place, with a lot of very different customs and traditions to New Zealand. I like your reasons for wanting to travel there, it sounds like it will be a very diverse place! 200 languages is a lot of different kinds of people, so it will be interesting to learn all about them.

I have a few friends who have travelled there, and they all enjoyed themselves but they said it was very hot. Sometimes it even gets up to 50 degrees! I'm not sure I could cope with that kind of heat. Does it stay warm there at this time of year or does it cool off?

I'm really looking forward to your next blog Mahdia. Keep up the awesome work!

    Happy holidays :-)
    Dan.

    1. Hi Mahdia and Ofa,

Thanks for posting a great comment, Ofa. I completely agree with you! Mahdia, you've chosen a great country. The UAE is a fascinating place to visit. It has such a distinctive dress code and way of being as a result of the religious approach adopted by the residents of the country.

I can't wait to read more of your posts and to learn more about the UAE as the summer progresses.

Keep up the great work - hope to see you online again really soon!

      Cheers, Rachel

  5. Hey Mahdia
The United Arab Emirates sounds like a interesting place. I know nothing about the UAM so hopefully I can learn a bit about them. Keep blogging!

  6. Hi Mahdia!

I'm Mark, one of the teachers working on the Summer Learning Journey with Rachel. I was just visiting this school and thought I better check out your blog too.

Did you know that New Zealand also supports over 200 ethnic groups? Pretty multicultural eh? I don't know if you know, but you're one of the few students doing the U.A.E. and I hope you can come back and teach us all a bit more about it.

I hope you are going to join in again soon, if not, then I hope you are having a wonderful holiday and are using your time to not just have fun, but to have learning fun too!

    Kia kaha!

    Mark
