Tahuna Tereo

Yesterday the seniors of PBS went to Tahuna Tereo.  The reason we went there is because it was connected to our Inquiry.  We got to look at the wetland where the birds migrate to and where they also  find their food.  During the trip we had 4 rotations.  Our first rotation was having lunch.  Second we got the opportunity to go to the beach.  After coming back from the beach we got a long time to play on the park.  Next we moved onto the hike.  I think the hike was very educational because we learnt about where the birds migrate from and their habitat.

Bar-Tailed Godwit Bird

This is a popplet made on the bar tailed godwit bird.  We were using our smart searching skills to find out info about the bar-tailed godwit bird.  In this popplet I have added some information about the godwit such as the appearance, habitat, diet, and predator.  Did you know that the bar tailed godwit bird can fly 7,242 miles without stopping.

Cyber Smart- Keyboard Shortcuts

For Inquiry we are learning about cyber smart.  The task that I had to complete was about using shortcuts to open a new tab, close a tap, and re-open a recently closed tab.  I have written 3 keyboard shortcuts that will help people.

Cyber Smart- Seeing Something Uncomfortable On The Web

For inquiry we are learning about cyber smart.  The task that I chose to complete was about seeing something on the web that makes you uncomfortable.  I came up with 2 ideas that can could help someone who needs help with what to do when they see something on the web that might make them uncomfortable.

Hydration And Dehydration

This term Panmure Bridge School has been a water only school (we can only have water at school).  LS2 were given a task to create a DLO about what hydration and dehydration is. In this DLO I worked with Charlize, Jessie and Afu.  We have explained what hydration, dehydration is.

Personal Trainer

This term LS1 and 2 have been focusing on Olympics as part of our Inquiry.  This week my group was with Mr Ogillve, and we are focusing on how the athletes train.  We also learnt about Agility (Speed), Endurance (ability), and strenght.  In this DLO I have answered some questions Mr Ogillve asked, and what activities we could do every day for 60 minutes to keep our self fit.

Attributing Images

Today during Inquiry LS2 were learning how to attribute an image.  We had to find a image of the Olympic ring, the Rio 2016 logo, NZ 2016 Olympics, and a flag of the Olympics 2016.  Attributing an image is when  you say thank you the person who took the image for putting it up, by putting in their name and the license by the image.

Our Global Neighbors- China

This term our topic is 'Our Global Neighbors'.  This week my group is learning about China.  In this DLO our LI was to learn about our global neighbors.  Did you know that China has the most famous landmarks.

Thai Food Compared To Afghani Foods

At Inquiry today we were comparing foods from Thailand and our country.

We had to compare the different foods that had at least 2 of the Thai flavors.

For Thailand I chose to compare the Thai Iced Tea, Thai Dumpling, and Thai Creme Caramel.

For Afghanistan I compared the Afghani Yogurt Drink, Afghani Dumplings and Afghani Cream Rolls.

In the middle is what the foods and drink have the same.

Inquiry- Our Global Neighbors

This is a DLO on our Inquiry this term.

This term LS1 and LS2 are split into 5 groups for our inquiry.  Our topic is "our global neighbors".

Today LS2 had to create a DLO on our country.

We had to find 5 facts and images that go with our facts.

Our Global Neighbors- Inquiry

As part of our inquiry this term LS1 and LS2 has been working together for Inquiry.

Our topic that we will carry out for the rest of the term is "our global neighbors".

LS1 and LS2 students have been split up into groups and we each group is learning about a country.

The groups are India, Japan, China, and Thailand.

Most children from PBS chose to not change the flag.

More Juniors wanted to change the flag though less children from the seniors chose to not change the flag.
