Holiday Reading- New Cover
This is a task from my holiday reading challenge.
The task was to create a new cover for a book that you've read.
I chose to create a new cover from a book that I just finished.
The name of the book is King Of The Cloud Forest and is by Michael Morpurgo.
The type of book is mystery.
I think my cover is better because of the different colour's that I have used to make it look more interesting.

Building A Deck Narrative
Building A Deck
The sun rose behind Adrian’s window. He woke up excited because today was the day. His mum and dad were planning to build a deck in their backyard.
“Adrian, son” screamed his father reading his newspaper, as he entered the kitchen. Adrian’s mum had phoned the builders a few weeks ago and today they were going to build the deck. Around 11:30 o’clock the doorbell rang. Adrian rushed to the door to see who it was. When he opened the door he saw three men standing there with tools in their hands. Andrian's father came rushing to the door and lead the men outside. An hour later Andrian decided to go and see what they were up to. The builders had made the deck pillars. Now they were on to cutting and smoothing the wood for the deck. After cutting and smoothing they were finally ready to start arranging the wood onto the deck framework. Piece by piece they placed the wood carefully on the half finished deck. Then they nailed each piece down.
The deck took about five hours to build. The builders packed everything up and were about to leave, when Adrian’s dad decided to have them over for dinner. Adrian, his dad, and the builders were chilling on the brand new deck when Adrian’s mum brought out the delicious lasagna that had just been pulled out of the oven. Adrian's family all had dinner together on the deck and had a memorable night with the builders who built the deck.
This is my writing. We had to write a narrative about 'building a deck'. My characters in this narrative are the three builders, and Adrian's family.

Current Event- Bus Strike
This is my and my partner Silivia's 'bus strike' DLO.
Our LI was to: Find and summarize information about a current event.
I think that the bus drivers should get paid more because they work hard and don't get much days off.
I think that this article gave out a big message to the bus drivers bosses, to pay them more money because they work hard.
